Human rights defender and journalist Maksym Butkevych received the Czech Stories of Injustice Award from the People in Need organization

Butkevych is currently in Russian captivity. His father, Oleksandr Butkevych, received the award in Prague.

"We decided to award the prize to Maksym Butkevych, a well-known Ukrainian human rights defender and POW, who is currently imprisoned. With the "Stories of Injustice Award" award, we want to express our support to all brave Ukrainians who defend their homeland," said the director of the Czech non-profit organization People in Need, Šimon Pánek.
