Head of the National Security Bureau of Poland: Russia could attack NATO within 3 years

Jacek Siewiera, who heads the National Security Bureau in Poland, said that NATO should prepare three years in advance for a possible direct Russian attack on the Alliance.
He said this in an interview with the Nasz Dziennik newspaper.
Siewiera disagrees with the forecast of the German think tank DGAP, which believes that Russia could attack NATO in "six to ten" years. The Polish official considers such forecasts "too optimistic".

"If we want to avoid war, NATO countries on the eastern flank should adopt a shorter, three-year time horizon to prepare for confrontation," said Jacek Siewiera.
He is convinced that the Russian military industry, "working in three shifts", can rebuild its potential in the next three years.

It will be recalled that Finland officially became a NATO member in April 2023. Sweden is also expected to join the Alliance.
In July 2023, following the NATO summit in Vilnius, the member states of the Northern Alliance called Russia "the most significant and direct threat" in a joint communiqué, but noted "that they do not seek confrontation and do not pose a threat to Russia".
