HBO parts ways with Serbian actor Miloš Biković over his pro-Russian stance

New York, USA (Svidomi) — An American company has cancelled a contract with Serbian actor Miloš Biković, who supports Russia, the actor posts on his X. 

Miloš Biković was supposed to play a character in the upcoming third season of the HBO series The White Lotus. The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to this news.

"HBO, is it okay for you to work with a person who supports genocide and violates international law?" the press service of the Ukrainian ministry said. 

After the American company cancelled the contract with Biković, the Serbian actor posted a statement on his social media.

"The result of such a narrative is the triumph of absurdity and the defeat of art," Miloš Biković said.

In 2018, Miloš Biković received the Pushkin Prize from Vladimir Putin for his services to art and culture.

He publicly supports Russia's occupation of Crimea (Qırım), stating that "the locals joined Russia themselves through a referendum".

In 2021, the actor was granted Russian citizenship.
