Government of Croatia recognises Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of Ukrainian people
The Croatian government supported the decision of the parliament and recognised the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people - the NOVA publication.
"We support the initiative of the Croatian parliamentary clubs," said Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković during the open part of the government meeting.
"By the proposed declaration, the Croatian Parliament recognises the Holodomor, a forced famine deliberately organised by the communist Stalinist regime in Ukraine in 1932-1933, as a crime of genocide against the Ukrainian people.
Holodomor, which caused the death of about 7 million people, was recognised as genocide by more than 20 countries and the European Parliament.
