Germany plans to allocate €5 billion annually to Ukraine until 2027

Germany has planned annual military support for Ukraine in the amount of five billion euros until 2027.

German Finance Minister Christian Lindner said this at a press conference in Kyiv, Forbes Ukraine reports.

Lindner said that Germany also allocates funds for humanitarian aid — support for Ukrainian IDPs — and makes contributions to the International Monetary Fund, from which funds also flow into the Ukrainian economy.

The German parliament has yet to make this decision.

The German Minister of Finance arrived in Kyiv on the morning of August 14 for the first time since the start of the full-scale invasion.

Lindner met with Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov, Deputy Minister Andrii Shevchenko, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko, and Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko.

The German Finance Minister also spoke in favour of supplying Taurus missiles to Ukraine.

"Together with our allies, in particular in the Ramstein format, we are weighing up the pros and cons. I know that there are supporters of supplying Taurus missiles, like myself, so I hope that this issue will be resolved soon," Lindner said at a press conference.

It will be recalled that Germany cannot decide on the supply of Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
