German, Lithuanian, Moldovan, and the Council of Europe's representatives respond to the Russian explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant

• German Chancellor Scholz called the explosion a "new dimension" of the war and added that Ukraine should continue to be supported financially and with weapons.

• Lithuanian Foreign Minister said that "terrorists do not stop unless they are stopped."

"I'll say it again: lasting peace in Europe requires a Ukrainian victory both on the battlefield and in the [International Criminal] Court. Nothing else will work," said Gabrielius Landsbergis.

• Moldovan President Maia Sandu said her country is ready to help "mitigate the impact" of the flooding.

"I strongly condemn the destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam this morning. Russia's targeting of critical infrastructure amounts to war crimes," she added.

• Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejčinović Burić, also condemned the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.
