Georgian Parliament Adopts Draft Law on Transparency of Foreign Influence
The Parliament of Georgia has passed the draft law "On Transparency of Foreign Influence" in the first reading. As a result, "86 deputies voted in favour, 13 voted against — Radio Liberty.
According to the legislative initiative, supported by the majority, non-governmental organisations and media that receive part of their funding from abroad must be registered as "agents of foreign influence."
The law's adoption on foreign agents is opposed by representatives of civil society and opposition parties, who argue that the draft law on "power of the people" is pro-Russian and threatens Georgia's Euro-Atlantic aspirations, and contradicts the values and principles of the European Union.
The same position is shared by the European Union, the United States, other partner countries of Georgia, international donors and human rights organisations.

She also supported the protesters who rallied against the adoption of the law.
