France to provide Ukraine with AASM Hammer precision-guided munitions and increase shell supplies

Monthly, Ukraine will receive about 50 hybrid bombs adapted to Soviet aircraft models, announced French Defence Minister Sébastien Lecornu on the France Inter television channel.

"We have managed to adapt them for use from Soviet-model aircraft. We will deliver 50, starting in January, until 2024," the minister said.

France also plans to produce 78 Caesar guns for the Ukrainian army.

"Currently, Ukraine has 49 guns of this type, which have achieved tactical success. Our goal is to produce 78 Caesar guns in 2024," Lecornu said.

Lecornu has also announced that France will be able to produce 78 Caesar self-propelled howitzers by early 2025.

He has added that France has been providing Ukraine with thousands of shells per month since the first months of the full-scale war and plans to increase the volume.

"Since last February (2023 - ed.), it has been 2,000 per month, and from this month it will be 3,000 shells per month," Sébastien Lecornu said.
