Four dead and over 20 injured, including children, in Russian strikes on Dnipro

On the night of October 26, Russia launched 98 air strikes against Ukrainian cities: 3 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, 2 X-59 guided missiles, 2 missiles of unspecified type and 91 UAVs. The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and the Ukrainian Air Force mobile fire groups and Defence Forces. As of 12 p.m., 44 enemy UAVs were confirmed downed, 1 more changed course to Belarus and 44 drones lost radar contact (went down jammed by electronic warfare).

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, south-central Ukraine, Russians launched a missile attack on a residential area in the regional centre. As of 12 p.m., four civilians died as a result of the attack, including a child. Over 20 civilians were injured, among them children: girls aged 8 and 16 and two 17-year-old boys. One of Ukraine's most important hospitals, Mechnikov Hospital, and residential buildings suffered damage. 

Russians also shelled the entire region throughout the day. The Russian army targeted the Nikopol, Marhanets, Pokrovsk and Chervonohryhorivka communities with kamikaze drones, heavy artillery and multiple rocket launchers Grad. A petrol station, a poultry farm, an administrative building and a car wash were damaged.  

The shelling of the Kyiv region, bordering Russia to the north, and Kyiv, the capital, resulted in one woman's death due to falling debris from enemy targets. A 13-year-old boy also sustained minor injuries due to the attack. Private houses, shops, a multi-storey building utility rooms, power lines and cars were damaged.

In the Kherson region, south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, Kherson, Antonivka, Prydniprovske, Sadove, Tomyna Balka, Stepanivka, Komyshany, Dniprovske, Bilozerka, Sofiyivka, Stanislav, Pervomaiske, Beryslav, Zolota Balka, Novovorontsovka, Havrylivka, and Burhunka came under Russian fire and air strikes. As a result of Russian aggression, 3 civilians died and 7 others were injured, including a child. A post office, a multi-storey building, private houses, outbuildings and cars were damaged or destroyed. 

In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, the Russians attacked Kupiansk, Huriiv Kozachok and Borova. The shelling of Borova killed a 61-year-old woman and damaged 7 private houses. Private houses in Kupiansk and Huriiv Kozachok were also damaged. 

In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine, Russian troops shelled Toretsk, Donetske, Viroliubivka, Maksymivka and Rai-Oleksandrivka. One civilian was injured in Donetsk. An educational institution, an agricultural facility, private houses and a lock-up were also damaged.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, partially occupied in the south since 2022, the Russians shelled Piatykhatky, Bilenke, Lobkove, Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Preobrazhenka, Malynivka, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Levadne, Novoselivka and Huliaipilske with UAVs, aircraft, MLRS and artillery. In total, Russian troops struck 330 times at 13 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. There were 2 reports of the destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure. No civilians were injured.

In the Khmelnytskyi region, west of Ukraine, the Russian attack resulted in partial power outages in 4 settlements, including the regional centre. The premises of a hotel and windows in two buildings were damaged.

In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, Russia shelled the Sumy, Khotin, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Duboviazivka, Esman and Shalyhyne communities with guided missiles, rockets, mortars, UAVs and artillery. Civilian objects in Sumy and Konotop sustained damage. No casualties were reported. 

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, Russian troops fired mortars and UAVs at settlements in the Novhorod-Siverskyi and Semenivka communities. No damage or casualties were reported. 

In the Luhansk region, almost completely occupied by Russia, the Russian army targeted Hrekivka with artillery and UAVs. No damage or casualties were reported.
