Former Austrian Foreign Minister settles in a village in Russia's Ryazan region

After leaving the country, the former Austrian Minister of Foreign Affairs settled in a village in the Ryazan region of Russia
She was spotted by journalists from a local newspaper at a village festival.
Karin Kneissl was the country's Foreign Minister in 2017-2019. In 2018, she invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to her wedding, where they danced together. Kneissl was a member of the far-right Freedom Party, which advocated for better relations with Russia.

In 2022, Kneissl reported threats against her, so she left the country. As it turned out, she had rented a house in the village of Petrushovo in the Ryazan region of the Russian Federation.
She told journalists that she last saw Putin in 2019.
