The US government will transfer frozen assets of Russian oligarchs to Ukraine for the first time.
This was announced by US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken at a Joint Press Availability with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
It is about $5.4 million that will be used to support Ukrainian veterans.
"Those who provoked Putin's war of aggression must pay for this," Blinken said.
It will be recalled that on September 6, the United States announced the allocation of more than a billion dollars to help Ukraine.
