Five G7 countries agree to displace Russia from the international nuclear energy market

The United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Japan, and France have agreed to cooperate to push Russia out of the international nuclear energy market.

The British government reports this.

The cooperation involves the development of joint uranium fuel supply chains and the development of clean energy sources.

"The five nations will leverage the respective resources and capabilities of each country's civil nuclear power sectors to undermine Russia's grip on supply chains. This agreement will support the stable supply of fuels for the needs of today, as well as guarantee the safe and secure development and deployment of fuels for the advanced reactors of tomorrow," the statement says.

The British government also adds the agreement will be used as a ground to remove Russia from the nuclear fuel market altogether and "doing so as quickly as possible, to cut off another means for him [Putin] to fund his barbaric attack on Ukraine and fundamentally leave Russia out in the cold."
