Finland's Central Criminal Police found a heavy object in the sea that could have damaged the Balticconnector gas pipeline.
The Finnish public broadcaster reports.
The object is deep in the marine clay seabed. Law enforcement is currently establishing what kind of object it is and whether it is related to the damage to the pipe.
Earlier, the Finnish police stated that the damage to the gas pipeline between Finland and Estonia could have been caused by mechanical force.
It is known that Russian and Chinese vessels sailed near the Balticconnector gas pipeline before the sabotage.
