EU to lift sanctions against Yandex co-founder Arkady Volozh, who now calls himself an 'Israeli entrepreneur'

London, United Kingdom (Svidomi) — According to Sky News, the co-founder of the Yandex search engine, known as the 'Russian Google', has been removed from the EU sanctions list.

The countries have agreed to remove Arkady Volozh from the list of individuals and entities sanctioned for Russia's invasion of Ukraine. He will be officially removed from the list after March 15, when the sanctions regime is extended.

The reasons for this decision are unknown, but according to the British newspaper, last year the businessman called Russia's war in Ukraine 'barbaric' and said he was going to cut ties with Russian business.
