EU extends sanctions against Russia for temporary occupation of Ukrainian territories

"The Union does not recognise and continues to condemn the illegal annexation of Ukrainian territories by the Russian Federation as a violation of international law. [...] The restrictive measures are to be extended until February 24, 2024," the EU's official journal said.

The decision to extend the sanctions will come into force on February 23.

These are the sanctions that were imposed on February 23, 2022, in response to Russia's so-called "recognition" of the "l/dpr" illegal armed groups.
