Eight people wounded in the Kherson region due to Russian shelling. Russia attacks ten regions of Ukraine

Shahed attack drones attacked Shostka and Konotop in the Sumy region, causing a power outage on the morning of May 22.

The Russians shelled Chuhuiv in the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, on the morning of May 22. A kindergarten was damaged. According to the regional military administration, five people were wounded. During the day, the Russians shelled the villages of Druzheliubivka, Hoptivka, Bilyi Kolodiaz, Zolochiv, and Lyptsi with guided aerial bombs, drones, and artillery. Private houses and a business were damaged. A woman was wounded.

The Russians launched 37 strikes in the Sumy region in the north of Ukraine, bordering Russia. They used attack drones, mortars, and cannon artillery. Critical infrastructure in Konotop and Voronizh and private houses were damaged. One person was wounded. 

The Russian army carried out 2,329 attacks on settlements in the Donetsk region, which has been partially occupied since 2014 and is located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine. Hirnyk, Kostiantynivka, Toretsk, Gostre, Pivnichne, Ozerne, Ostrovske, Rih, Toretsk, and Lyman were hit. One person was wounded in Lyman. In Toretsk, a man died of injuries. In the village of Rih, a missile strike killed two people and injured two others, including a child. 

The Russians launched a missile attack on the village of Nevske in the Luhansk region, almost completely occupied by Russia. There were no casualties. 

On the night of May 22, air defence destroyed three Shahed attack drones in the Dnipropetrovsk region in south-central Ukraine. The Russians shelled the Nikopol district with artillery. Power lines were damaged. 

The Russian army launched 391 attacks on settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, which has been partially occupied in the south since 2022. Zaporizhzhia was attacked with a rocket, Novoandriivka, Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Malynivka and Mala Tokmachka with aircraft, drones and artillery. There were no casualties.

In the Mykolaiv region in the south of Ukraine, on the night of May 22, the Russians attacked Ochakiv and the Ochakiv community with ten Shahed attack drones. Air defence destroyed all the drones. There were no casualties. 

In the Kherson region, which has been partially occupied since 2022, the Russians attacked 17 settlements from the air. These are Novoberyslav, Kozatske, Antonivka, Respublikanets, Ivanivka, Havrylivka, Veletenske, Poniativka, Burhunka, Sadove, Bilozerka, Beryslav, Mykhailivka, Vesele, Kozatske, Prydniprovske and the city of Kherson. Eight people were wounded, including one child. 

The Russians attacked the Odesa region in the southwest of Ukraine with Shahed attack drones. Air defence forces destroyed two attack drones. There were no casualties. 

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, the Russians fired 23 times at the border villages of the Novhorod-Siverskyi community using mortars and cannon artillery. There were no casualties.
