Director-General of the International Committee of the Red Cross will discuss with the Russian Federation the expansion of access to Ukrainian POWs

Robert Mardini noted that he would visit Russia in about two weeks.

"My goal is to demand more access to prisoners of war and more humanitarian access to the territory temporarily not controlled by Ukraine," Mardini said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

According to him, since the beginning of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, ICRC staff have visited several hundred POWs from both sides. Thanks to this, about 3 thousand families of prisoners of war received news about their relatives.
