Denmark ends investigation into Russian Nord Stream pipeline blasts
Copenhagen, Denmark (Svidomi) — The Danish police have closed the investigation into the September 2022 explosions on Russia's Nord Stream pipeline, which occurred on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines.
The results of the investigation showed that there was "deliberate sabotage" in the Nord Stream bombing case. However, there are not sufficient grounds to pursue a criminal case in Denmark.
Earlier in February this year, the Swedish police announced that they had closed the investigation. They added that “Swedish jurisdiction does not apply,”. Investigation in Germany is still underway.
On September 26, 2022, three explosions occurred in the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines, which run under the Baltic Sea from Russia to Germany, causing massive gas leaks.
In March 2023, German journalists found that the yacht used to attack Nord Sream belonged to Ukrainians. However, President Zelenskyy denied any involvement of Ukraine in the attacks on Nord Stream.
In May 2023, it was reported that Russian ships had been near the explosion sites of the Nord Stream gas pipeline at least three times.
