Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin: since the beginning of 2022, US balloons had allegedly "illegally flown over China more than 10 times"

Bloomberg writes about it.

"It is nothing rare for US balloons to illegally enter other country's airspace," Wang told reporters at a regular briefing in Beijing on Monday.

He also added that China reserves the right to take necessary measures to resolve such incidents.

Adrienne Watson, White House National Security Council Spokesperson, responded to the statement.

She denied Wenbin's words and clarified that "China has a high-altitude surveillance balloon program for intelligence collection."

"Any claim that the US government operates surveillance balloons over the PRC is false. It is China that has a high-altitude surveillance balloon program for intelligence collection, that it has used to violate the sovereignty of the US and over 40 countries across 5 continents,” she wrote on her Twitter page.
