China says the United States "is not qualified to lecture them" on arms supplies to Russia

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said this during a news conference, CNN reports.

Wang Wenbin noted that "it is the US side, not the Chinese side, that supplies a steady stream of weapons to the battlefield," and China "would never accept the US dictating or even coercing pressure on Sino-Russian relations."

Wang added that China continues to "urge peace and promote talks" and is firmly committed to "playing a constructive role in promoting the de-escalation and cooling down the situation."

It will be recalled that on February 19, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the United States has information that China is considering the possible supply of lethal weapons to Russia.

Blinken noted that US President Joe Biden had expressed deep concern to Chinese President Xi Jinping about this and said it would cause "serious problems" in relations between the two countries.
