Budanov: At least nine people killed in attack on Russian Black Sea Fleet headquarters in Sevastopol

The head of Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, has said that at least nine people were killed in the attack on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol (Aqyar).

The Ukrainian service of the Voice of America writes about this with reference to Budanov.

16 people were injured. Among the wounded are the group's commander, Colonel General Alexander Romanchuk, and Chief of Staff Aleg Tsekov.

Aleksandr Romanchuk is the commander of the Russian troops in the Zaporizhzhia direction, and Aleh Tsekov is the commander of the 200th Separate Guards Motorised Rifle Brigade of the Coastal Troops of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy.

According to the DIU chief, Romanchuk is in "very serious condition" and Tsekov is unconscious.

"The number of injured regular servicemen who are not staff members is still being clarified. These are soldiers on duty, security guards, etc.", Budanov says.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces also reported on the wounded and dead. They did not specify the number, but added that it was dozens of Russians, including senior naval officers.

It will be recalled that the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet on September 22. The Russian side initially claimed that one person had been killed. Later, the Russians began to claim that one person was not killed but went missing.
