Bloomberg: Ukraine paralyses 12% of Russia's refining capacity
Novoshakhtinsk/Ryazan/Kstovo, Russia (Svidomi) — Attacks by Ukrainian drones have shut down three oil refineries: Rosneft's Ryazan refinery near Moscow, the Novoshakhtinsk refinery in the south of the Rostov region, and Lukoil PJSC’s Norsi plant.
The Ryazan refinery has a capacity of 17.1 million tonnes of fuel per year and is the main supplier of motor fuel to Russia's metropolitan regions. The Novoshakhtinsk refinery produces 5.6 million tonnes of fuel per year.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy says it is "quite fair" to inflict damage on the Russian state in response to missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities.
In an interview with the RIA propaganda agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Ukrainian strikes in Russian regions "are aimed at interfering in the elections in Russia, if not disrupting them." The Russian presidential election will take place on March 17, and Russians have already started llegal early voting in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
