Azerbaijani border guards detain former head of the so-called 'government' of Nagorno-Karabakh, Ruben Vardanyan

Azerbaijani border guards have detained Ruben Vardanyan, the former head of the so-called "government" of the so-called "Artsakh Republic".

This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Azerbaijan.

Vardanyan was taken to Baku accompanied by officers of the State Border Guard Service. The detainee was "handed over to the relevant state authorities for an appropriate decision". 

He was detained at the Lachin checkpoint while travelling towards Armenia.

Ruben Vardanyan worked as the so-called "State Minister of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic".

It will be recalled that 47,000 refugees have already fled Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia.
