Associated Press journalists analyzed satellite images of the Old Crimea cemetery from early March to December.
After measuring each section of the cemetery, it was found that the total area occupied by new graves is more than 51,500 square meters. One grave covers approximately six square meters. First, long trenches were dug, which were subsequently buried.
The graves are in the form of earthen mounds, sometimes with wooden crosses containing small tablets with dates and names. At the same time, several graves are marked with several numbers, which may indicate mass burials.
