All 27 EU countries agree on four-year €50bn aid package for Ukraine

Brussels, Belgium (Svidomi) — All 27 EU countries have agreed on a four-year, €50 billion aid package for Ukraine, previously blocked by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, European Council President Charles Michel said.

"This locks in steadfast, long-term, predictable funding for Ukraine. EU is taking leadership & responsibility in support for Ukraine; we know what is at stake," Charles Michel said.

In December 2023, Hungary blocked the allocation of these funds to Ukraine. According to the Financial Times, the EU was preparing a plan to sabotage Hungary's economy if Hungary tried to block the allocation of €50 billion on February 1. This information was later denied.
