After the shelling of the temporarily occupied Olenivka on July 29, Ukraine still has not received the bodies of the dead POWs
The Ministry of Defense of Russia has published the lists of the dead, however, it is impossible to verify this information. The bodies of the dead have not been handed over to Ukraine.
The patronage service of the "Azov" regiment cooperates with the special service of the General Staff "On the Shield", which is involved in the evacuation of dead servicemen, helping to initially identify the military.
"We receive the dead in such a state that it is very difficult to recognize a person — there are no tattoos anymore, the stage of decomposition is terrible," said the head of the patronage service of the "Azov" regiment, Olena Tolkachova.
According to her, the bodies of the dead usually come with signed numbers, without surnames. So far, it has been possible to get the bodies of about 600 defenders of Mariupol, including about 30 soldiers of "Azov".
About 2,000 soldiers surrendered in Azovstal, more than 900 were Azov soldiers, and there were also civilians. Up to 50 women are currently in Russian captivity, two of them are pregnant.
