Additional troops to arrive in the Kursk region of Russia to allegedly "protect the border" — the governor of the region, Raman Starovoit

"In the coming days, additional military personnel will arrive in the region. Therefore, it is necessary to provide comprehensive support in the reception and deployment of additional forces and equipment so that the military can begin to fulfil the tasks of protecting the state border and ensuring the security of the Kursk region as soon as possible," Starovoit said.

The governor said that on January 29, the Kursk region was allegedly shelled twice, leaving several villages without electricity.

On January 25, Starovoit said that "the risk of an armed invasion of the territory of the Kursk region by Ukraine is currently low." However, the Russian authorities are constantly engaged in allegedly strengthening the region's defence capabilities.
