Biden's national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, said this, CNN reports.

The US President made the final decision to travel to Kyiv after a meeting in the Oval Office on Friday.

According to Deputy National Security Advisor Jon Finer, the trip was planned by the Office of the Chief of Staff, the National Security Council, the White House Military Office, officials from the US Secret Service, the Pentagon, and the Intelligence Community.

Biden was regularly briefed on the trip plans and threat assessment. There were also regular talks between the White House and Ukrainian officials.
