77% of Russians support the war against Ukraine
Moscow, Russia (Svidomi) — Levada think tank research shows that 77% of Russians support the war against Ukraine. The Russian government recognised this centre as a foreign agent.
The results were published on February 6. Only 16% of respondents are against the war.
The number of Russians who support the war remains practically unchanged from the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
In November 2023 research showed that 75% of respondents supported the war.
The majority (77%) of Russians think that Russia will win the war. That is 6% more than in January 2023.
50% of respondents said they support “peace negotiations”.
Approximately 66% of Russians also think “Russia pays too high a price for the war”. In July 2023, this number was 82%.
31% of respondents think they bear moral responsibility for the death of Ukrainian civilians and the destruction in Ukraine caused by the war.
22% of Russians said that the full-scale invasion of Ukraine was a “mistake”.
