In Russia, a 59-year-old Crimean Tatar activist with a stroke was sentenced to 17 years in a high-security prison

Azamat Eyupov suffered 4 ischemic strokes during detention in the pre-trial detention center.

The Southern Military District Court in Rostov-on-Don found the man guilty of allegedly "organizing terrorist activities."

After his release, the court ordered Eyupov not to leave his place of residence and work without prior notice, as well as to observe a curfew for another 1.5 years, regularly reporting to the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.
