Oleksandr Klymenko was approved as the new head of the SAPO

Klymenko won the competition for the post of the Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office a year and a half ago, but for various reasons the commission canceled and postponed the approval.

Now the candidacy of Oleksandr Klymenko must be approved by the Prosecutor General. Before that the Head of the commission, Kateryna Koval, must receive confirmation that Klymenko has access to state secrets and complies with the Lustration law.

The election of the head of the SAPO is one of the key requirements of the European Commission.

Oleksandr Klymenko is a National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine detective known for investigating the case of the deputy head of the Presidential Office Oleh Tatarov.
