Lithuania will comply with the additional instructions provided by the European Commission regarding the permit for rail transit in the Russian Federation
Earlier, the European Commission published additional instructions on the transit of goods from Russia, according to which the EU Regulation on the prohibition of transit transportation of goods from the Russian Federation does not apply to rail transport.
"Understanding that the Kremlin regime seeks, among other things, to weaken transatlantic unity, sow despair and lead allies to infighting, Lithuania remains committed to the transatlantic partnership and will follow a unified and coordinated EU sanctions policy," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania commented on the decision.
