British Foreign Minister Liz Truss has put forward her candidacy for the post of Prime Minister

"I will fight the election as a Conservative and govern as a Conservative. I will hit the ground running as prime minister, whether it is in ensuring Vladimir Putin loses in Ukraine or getting the economy going," Truss said.

Liz Truss has announced that if she is elected as Prime Minister, she plans to lower taxes and reform business rates.
