US Ambassador to Ukraine reacts to Russian attack on Chernihiv on August 19
The US Ambassador to Ukraine condemned the Russian missile attack on Chernihiv on August 19.
Bridget Brink wrote about it on her social media.
"Russia’s missile and drone strikes on Ukraine’s cities, ports, and people reflect the depths to which Russia has sunk and must stop," the ambassador said.
The UN Humanitarian Coordinator for UKRAINE, Denise Brown, also condemned Russia's "repeated pattern of strikes on populated areas of Ukraine".
"It is heinous to attack the main square of a large city, in the morning, while people are out walking, some going to the church to celebrate a religious day for many Ukrainians," said Denise Brown.
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the attack on Chernihiv "an illustration of Russia's cowardice and cynicism" and pledged to continue supporting Ukraine as long as necessary.
It will be recalled that on August 19, Russians shelled the centre of Chernihiv. 136 people were injured, seven of whom were killed.
