The Head of the UNESCO Office in Ukraine, Chiara Dezzi Bardeschi, stated that she would recommend that St Sophia Cathedral, Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, and the historic centre of Lviv be included in the List of World Heritage in Danger.
Chiara Dezzi Bardeschi said this during a briefing on August 7.
She believes that culture is "of great importance and affects the resilience of a nation in times of war."
The UNESCO World Heritage Committee is to make a decision during its meeting in September.
