Ukrainian Special Forces destroy Russian Black Sea Fleet missile boat Ivanovets

Kyiv, Ukraine (Svidomi) — Ukraine's Main Directorate of Intelligence said that on the night of February 1, fighters of its Group 13 special unit destroyed the Ivanovets missile boat of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

The surface drones attacked the boat on Lake Donuzlav in the temporarily occupied Crimea (Qırım). As a result of several direct hits to the hull, the Russian ship sustained damage that was incompatible with further movement and sank.

The vessel was hit several times in the hull, heeled over and sank. Its estimated value is $60-70 million.

"According to preliminary information, the search and rescue operation of the Russian occupiers on the Donuzlav was unsuccessful," the DIU said.

The Ukrainian Navy later said that the Ivanovets boat was part of the 41st Brigade of Missile Boats of the Black Sea Fleet and guarded the Novoozerne base in the western part of occupied Crimea (Qırım). It is a large missile boat of the Molniya project 12411, used to destroy warships, amphibious and landing craft, and vessels and protect its ships from surface and air threats.

"It is a quite significant loss, considering that there are only three such boats of the 1241.1 project in the Russian Black Sea Fleet and weapons, including anti-ship missiles of the Moskit type with a range of up to 130 kilometres," the Ukrainian Navy said.

Russians are currently conducting search and rescue operations.
