During the presentation of the annual European Charlemagne Prize for the Defence of European Values, it was emphasized that Volodymyr Zelenskyy is not only the President of his people and Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian army, he is also "a motivator, communicator, driving force and anchor between Ukraine and its vast array of supporters".

"The Ukrainian people, under the leadership of their President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, are defending not only the sovereignty of their country and the lives of their citizens, but also Europe and European values," the statement said.
