Ukrainian Air Force destroys all 24 UAVs used by Russia to attack Ukraine at night

On the night of August 5, the Ukrainian Air Force shot down all 24 UAVs used by the Russian army to attack Ukraine. The UAVs were shot down over the Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region in south-central Ukraine, the Russian army attacked the communities of Chervonohryhorivka, Myrove and Marhanets, as well as the city of Nikopol.

Infrastructure, three enterprises, about 18 private houses, 13 outbuildings, a greenhouse, powerlines, a cafeteria, a shopping centre, a water vending machine, garages, cars, solar panels, and a gas pipeline were damaged. Two people got injured. 

In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine, the Russians struck Lyman, Novohrodivka, Toretsk, Ukrainsk, Hrodivka, Novoekonomichne, Vesele, Vovchenka, Dalne, Mykolaivka, Novyi Komariv, Rozdolne, Trudove, and Uspenivka.

Thirty-eight residential buildings, a medical facility, garages, an educational institution, administrative buildings, and power lines were damaged. One person was killed, and three were injured.

In the Luhansk region, almost completely occupied by Russia, the Russian army attacked Nevske, Makiivka and Stelmakhivka.

In the Mykolaiv region in the south of Ukraine, the Russians shelled the waters of the Ochakiv community. There were no casualties.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, partially occupied in the south since 2022, the Russians launched 472 attacks on Lobkove, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Levadne and Zaliznychne. Three residential buildings were damaged.

In the Sumy region, ​​bordering Russia to the north, the Russians attacked the communities of Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Sloboda, Shalyhyne, Seredyna-Buda, Khotin, Esman and Druzhba. A private house was damaged.

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, the Russians shelled the communities of Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Snovsk. 

In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, the Russian army shelled Vasyshcheve, Koviahy, Kruhliahivka, and Nova Ivanivka. Civilian infrastructure and two houses were damaged. One person was killed. 

In the Kherson region in the south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, Russia attacked Kherson, Blahovishchenske, Kizomys, Veletenske, Sadove, Stanislav, Beryslav, Tiahynka, Burhunka, Antonivka, Dariivka, and Prydniprovske. Four multi-storey buildings and ten private houses were damaged. Four people were injured.
