Ukraine will not send photos to the contest Wiki Loves Monuments 2022 because of Russia's participation

Despite Ukraine's appeal, the organizers allowed photos of cultural heritage monuments from Russia to the competition.

"We consider it unacceptable to participate in an international photo contest of the country waging a war against Ukraine and killing thousands of Ukrainians, as well as systematically destroying and stealing Ukrainian cultural, architectural, and archeological monuments," the Wikimedia Ukraine organization wrote on its website.

In addition, Ukrainian participants were deprived of equal conditions for participation in the competition due to restrictions caused by the war.
