Ukraine returns 44 people from Russian captivity

Ukraine has returned 44 people from Russia as part of another exchange of prisoners of war — the Head of the Presidential Office Andrii Yermak.

Among the released are 36 privates and sergeants, as well as six officers. They are border guards, National Guard soldiery and sailors.

The soldiery released on April 26 are defenders of Mariupol, Azovstal, and those who fought in eastern Ukraine and the Kherson region.

Ukraine also released two civilian hostages.

"Among those released are the wounded who were tortured by Russians in captivity. There are also two men whose wives were released from captivity earlier," added Yermak.

As a reminder, on April 16, Ukraine returned 130 people from the rendition. On April 10, 100 people were returned, including 20 women.
