The UEFA Executive Committee has allowed Russian Under-17 teams to participate in official international competitions this season.

UEFA announced this.

"By banning children from our competitions, we not only fail to recognise and uphold a fundamental right for their holistic development, but we directly discriminate against them," said UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin.

Russian teams will play without a flag and anthem.

It is also forbidden to hold games on the territory of Russia.

The UEFA administration is currently working on a technical solution that would allow Russian Under-17 teams, both girls and boys, to participate.

The suspension of all other Russian teams, clubs, and national teams will remain in place until the war against Ukraine ends.

UEFA was the first sports body to respond to the war against Ukraine, and in February 2022, it suspended all Russian teams from its competitions.
