Two volunteers killed in the war in Ukraine
Paris, France (Svidomi) - The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs has confirmed the deaths of two French volunteers. Another three got injured, French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Stéphane Séjourné said.
The day before, the head of the Kherson regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, said that the Russian army had shelled the town of Beryslav, near Kherson, again, resulting in injuries and deaths of foreign volunteers.
The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs confirmed the information.
"Russian barbarity has targeted civilians in Ukraine. Two French humanitarian aid workers paid for their commitment to the Ukrainians with their lives. Three others were injured... Russia will have to answer for its crimes," Stéphane Séjourné wrote on the social media site X.
President Emmanuel Macron also reacted to the deaths of French citizens.
"Two French aid workers have been killed in Ukraine by a Russian strike. A cowardly and outrageous act. My thoughts are with their relatives and injured fellow volunteers. My solidarity goes out to all the volunteers who are committed to helping people," Macron wrote.
