Two Ukrainian Armed Forces pilots arrive in the USA for the American experts to assess their level of knowledge
Two Ukrainian pilots have arrived in the United States so that American experts could assess their level of knowledge and skills.
Yurii Ihnat, Air Force spokesman, reported this in a comment to Voice of America.
He noted that the visit would assess how long it takes to train Ukrainian pilots.
"All these points are taken into account, and further steps will be taken to understand the algorithm of actions: how we will act next, where we will train [Ukrainian pilots — ed.], if a decision is made on [providing Ukraine with] a particular type of aircraft," the publication quoted Ihnat as saying.
The Air Force spokesman also added that in addition to pilots, training of aviation engineers who will maintain the equipment is no less important.
"So this issue is also relevant, and the preparation of the infrastructure is already being done in Ukraine in stages," Ihnat said.
According to him, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is also working on adapting airfields, reserve airfields, and operational airfields to take aircraft.
