The Netherlands reduces the number of accredited Russian diplomats

The Netherlands and Russia have been trying for a long time to reach an agreement on the number of diplomatic personnel and mechanisms for its approval but have not received any results.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country, Wopke Hoekstra, announced this.

Russia continued to offer the Netherlands to approve spies for diplomatic posts.

In addition, the Kremlin refused to extend the visas of Dutch diplomats.

Eventually, the country decided to reduce its presence in Russia: the country's consulate in St. Petersburg will be closed. In exchange, the Russian trade mission in Amsterdam will also close.

Russian diplomats must leave within two weeks.
