Taiwan spots over 100 Chinese warplanes in its air defence zone
Over the past day, the Taiwanese Ministry of Defence has detected 103 PLA aircraft and 9 PLAN vessels manoeuvring around the island.
This was reported by the Ministry of National Defence of Taiwan.
40 aircraft, including 36 J-10, J-11, J-16 and SU-30 fighters, two KJ-500 long-range radar detection aircraft and two Y-20 refuellers crossed the midline of the Taiwan Strait, which is considered the unofficial border between the mainland and the island, or entered Taiwan's southwestern and southeastern air defence identification zones.
The Taiwanese army responded by putting its forces on alert and observing the Chinese military's actions.
