Russians kill Ukrainian priest in temporarily occupied Kalanchak, Kherson region

Kalanchak, Ukraine (Svidomi) — Russians killed priest Stepan Podolchak from Kalanchak in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region, the Kalanchak village military administration reports.

The administration told Suspilne that the priest conducted the service in Ukrainian and refused to transfer to the Moscow Patriarchate, despite the Russian FSS's (Federal Security Service) calls.

Russian security forces took the man from his home on February 13.

"Stepan Yaroslavovych was forced out of the house barefoot, with a bag over his head. Today, on February 15, they came and took his wife to identify him," the village military administration reported.

In the temporarily occupied territories, Russians continue to put pressure on Ukrainians who refuse to accept Russian documents, live under the new rules and do not hide their pro-Ukrainian position.

It will be recalled that the occupation authorities of part of the Zaporizhzhia region deprive local residents of the right to work, education and medical care.
