Russian strike on Kherson city center kills six in the morning of October 1
On the night of October 1, Russia attacked Ukraine with 32 Shahed combat drones. The Air Force reported the downing of 29 combat drones in the Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Poltava, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Three more drones lost radar contact.
In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia to the east, the Russians shelled Petro-Ivanivka, Kupiansk, Ivashky, Doroshivka, Shyrokyi Yar, and Stetsivka. Six civilians were injured, and one was killed.
In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine, the Russian army launched 2774 attacks on Hirnyk, Bilytske, Kostiantynivka, Kurakhove, Lyman, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Sviatohirsk, Siversk, Drobysheve, Udachne, Yampil, Bohoiavlenka, Rozlyv, Sukhi Yaly, Shchuriv, and Yablunivka. They damaged 22 residential buildings, an outpatient department, an educational institution, and an agricultural enterprise. Three civilians were injured, and two were killed.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region in south-central Ukraine, the Russians shelled Nikopol and the communities of Pokrovsk, Chervonohryhorivka, and Marhanets. Three residential buildings were damaged. The regional military administration reports no casualties.
In the Zaporizhzhia region in the south, partially occupied in the south since 2022, the Russians launched 359 attacks on 12 settlements. Residential buildings, garages, outbuildings, and vehicles were damaged. The police of the Zaporizhzhia region reported no casualties.
In the Mykolaiv region in the south of Ukraine, the Russians shelled the community of Kutsurub with FPV combat drones. The regional military administration reports no casualties.
In the Kherson region in the south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, the Russians shelled Burhunka, Velyka Oleksandrivka, Shyroka Balka, Stanislav, Antonivka, Novovorontsovka, Nezlamne, Tomyna Balka, Shliakhove, Mykilske, Tokarivka, Veletenske, Kizomys, Kachkarivka, Bilozerka, Mylove, Darivka, Prydniprovske, Sadove, Beryslav, Starosillia, Zolota Balka, Pervomaiske, and Kherson. Seventeen civilians were injured.
On the morning of October 1, the Russians shelled the center of Kherson with cannon artillery. They hit near the market and a public transportation stop. Six civilians were injured, and six were killed.
In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, the Russian army struck 237 times at 43 settlements in the region. A hospital, an industrial facility, six private residential buildings, and vehicles were damaged, and dry grass caught fire. Two civilians were injured.
