Russia plans to start mass production of Kh-50 cruise missiles in June - General Staff

The Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksii Hromov, says this will allow the Russians to intensify missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine in autumn.

"The Kh-50 is a strategic cruise missile, the production of which was announced in 2017.

According to Defence Express, the length of the missile body is 6 metres, the flight weight is 1600 kg, the range is up to 1500 km, and the maximum flight speed is up to 950 km/h. 

Oleksii Hromov informs that, according to the information available to the General Staff, since February 2022, Russia has used up at least 50% of its stockpile of long-range anti-aircraft missiles, having used at least 8,000 of them.

"At the current production level, Russia will not be able to rebuild its stockpile in the medium term. This could potentially jeopardise Moscow's ability to defend its strategic interests in the Far East and on the border with NATO countries," Hromov reported.
