Russia blocks the work of the Black Sea Grain Agreement again

On 30-31 May, Russia again blocked the Black Sea Grain Initiative. During this time, the Russians let only one ship through, so Ukraine appealed to the Secretariat of the Joint Control Commission to resume work.

This was reported by the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine.

In the last two days of May, Russia allowed only one vessel to be inspected. However, 10 other vessels confirmed their participation. In total, there are 50 ships in the queue, which can load 2.4 million tonnes of food worth $1 billion.

These actions of the Russians are a gross violation of the agreement terms. Ukraine has already appealed to the Secretariat of the Joint Control Commission to restore the grain initiative to full operation.
