Starting September 17, cars registered in Russia will not be able to enter the European Union through Poland.
This was announced by the Minister of the Interior, Mariusz Kamiński.
The ban will take effect at midnight.
"No Russian car will enter Poland. This applies to both commercial vehicles and private cars, regardless of whether the owner of the car is a citizen of Russia or another country," Kamiński said.
The countries made these decisions after September 8, when the European Commission published recommendations to ban cars with Russian registration from entering the EU.
